GOOD NEWS FOR SHOOTERS!
The Frederick County Zoning Board approved our plans for lights and electrical expansion throughout our home grounds. We will now be able to have shoot-offs each evening under lights if necessary.
In addition, we have approval to extend our existing building for bathrooms and to erect a new building to accommodate bathrooms and showers. We also have approval to install water hydrants throughout our grounds.
We are working to obtain a street address for our home grounds so that GPS devices can be used to locate our facilities for those who do not know where we are.
We have come a long way in a little over a year, but we again need your financial help. Donations are needed to continue and complete the work. Please send any donation to:

MARYLAND STATE HOME GROUNDS SHOOT
APRIL 3, 2010
The Maryland State Sportsmen’s Association held a spring shoot at its home grounds in Thurmont on Saturday, April 3, 2010. The shoot was managed by the officers of the Association and was worked by a large base of volunteer help from many of the gun clubs in Maryland. The profits from this shoot will be donated toward further improvement of our home grounds. Other shoots sponsored by MSSA will include the State Shoot held on June 23 through June 27 at Millington, a summer shoot on August 21 and 22 at our home grounds, and the Fall Handicap on September 4 and 5 at Millington.
The weather for the shoot was gorgeous. No one could have asked for better. The turnout of shooters was fantastic. The officers wished that they could have anticipated the huge numbers of shooters so that more banks could have been used.
